Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 28, 2026
At Novations, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and when it may be shared when you visit or make a purchase through the Novations website.
By using our website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

When you visit our website, contact us, or place an order, we may collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:
- Your name
- Email address
- Mailing and shipping address
- Phone number
- Your pet's name and personalization information provided for your order
- Information included in messages or communications you send to us
- Information necessary to process and fulfill your order
- Payment and billing information
We may also collect limited technical information about your visit to our website, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and general website activity. This information may be collected automatically by our website hosting or other services we use to operate and maintain the website.
How We Use Your Information
We may use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your orders
- Create and personalize your products
- Communicate with you about your order
- Respond to questions, requests, or customer service inquiries
- Process payments
- Send transactional emails and other necessary communications

We use personal information only for legitimate business purposes and do not collect more information than reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Where We Ship
Novations currently ships within the United States only.
Orders are placed, processed, and fulfilled in the United States, and the information you provide to us is processed there.
If we begin shipping to other locations in the future, we may update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
Payment Processing
Payments made through the Novations website are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor.
When you make a purchase, Stripe may collect and process information necessary to complete the transaction, which may include your name, email address, billing and shipping information, payment method information, transaction details, and other information necessary to process payments and prevent fraud.
The details of the item you ordered are also stored with your transaction, which may include the design, finish, size, and font you selected, and the personalization information you provided for the front and back of your tag.
Novations does not store your complete credit or debit card number on our own systems.
Stripe's handling of personal information is subject to its own privacy practices.
Website Hosting
The Novations website is hosted through Vercel. Vercel may process certain technical information associated with visitors to our website as necessary to provide hosting, security, performance, and related services.
Vercel's handling of personal information is subject to its own privacy practices.
Contact Forms and Email
Our website uses Resend to process and deliver email. This includes messages submitted through our contact and inquiry forms, and email we send to you regarding your order, such as shipping and tracking notifications.
When you submit information through a Novations form, the information you provide may be transmitted to and processed by Resend for the purpose of delivering your message to us.
This may include information such as your name, email address, order number, and the contents of your message.
Email we send to you regarding an order may include your name, email address, order information, and shipping or tracking details.
Resend's handling of personal information is subject to its own privacy practices.
Customer Reviews
Novations uses Shopper Approved to collect customer reviews and feedback about our products and shopping experience.
Shopper Approved's review survey runs on our order confirmation page, which means their code loads in your browser when you complete a purchase.
To facilitate review requests, we may share certain customer information with Shopper Approved, which may include your name, email address, order number, the state and country associated with your order, the products you purchased, and other information reasonably necessary to request and verify a customer review.
Your email address may be shared with Shopper Approved so that Shopper Approved can send you a follow-up email requesting a review of your purchase.
By making a purchase through our website, you acknowledge that your email address and other relevant order information may be shared with Shopper Approved for this purpose.
Shopper Approved may use the information provided to facilitate review requests, verify transactions, and collect and display customer reviews.
Shopper Approved's handling of personal information is subject to its own privacy practices.
Cookies and Browser Storage
Novations does not currently use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics purposes.
Our admin portal uses a single sign-in cookie that keeps authorized staff signed in. It is used only for that purpose and is not used to identify or track visitors or customers.
Your shopping cart is saved in your browser's local storage so that your selections are still there if you leave our website and return. This includes the personalization information you have entered, such as your pet's name and the text you have entered for the back of your tag. This information remains on your own device and is not sent to Novations unless and until you place an order. You may remove it at any time by emptying your cart or by clearing your browser's site data.
We also store a randomly generated visit identifier in your browser's session storage, which is used to understand how our website is used. It is not a cookie, it contains no information about you, and it is erased when you close the tab. It is described in the next section.
If you ask us not to measure your visits, we store a single item in your browser's local storage to remember that. It contains no information about you, it is only ever read to decide not to record something, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. How to set it is described in the next section.
Certain third-party services used to operate our website may use cookies or similar technologies as part of their own services. Any such technologies are governed by the applicable third party's privacy practices.
If our use of cookies or similar technologies changes in the future, we may update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
How We Measure Our Website
We record how our website is used so that we can improve it. This includes pages viewed, designs viewed, options selected such as size, finish and font, searches performed and the number of results they returned, and progress through the cart and checkout.
We also record how you arrived: the website that linked to you, any campaign tag on the link, whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop, the first page you landed on, and the country you are in.
Only the name of the referring website is kept, never the full address of the page, because a full address can contain the words someone searched for. The device is worked out from the width of your browser window, not from anything that identifies it. The country is determined by our hosting provider before the visit reaches us, and we never see or store the IP address it came from.
This information is collected by Novations and stored in our own database. It is not shared with any advertising network or analytics company, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
We do not use cookies for this. Visits are grouped using a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's session storage, which is erased when you close the tab and cannot be used to recognize you on a later visit or on a different device.
We do not record:
- Your IP address
- Your name, email address, or any contact details
- The personalization information you enter for your tag, such as your pet's name or the text for the back
- Anything that identifies you personally
The one exception is the text of a search, which we record so that we can see what customers are looking for and cannot find. Please do not enter personal information into the search box.
We also record which designs were purchased on an order, so that we can see which designs customers want. This is linked to the order number, not to you.
If you would rather we did not measure your visits at all, visit novationsengraving.com/?notme=1 once. Your browser will remember it and we will stop recording anything from it, on this visit and on every visit after. Visiting novationsengraving.com/?notme=0 undoes it. This is stored on your own device, so it applies to that browser rather than to you, and you would need to set it once on each browser or device you use.
Information Sharing
Novations does not sell your personal information.
We may share personal information with trusted third-party service providers when necessary to operate our business, process orders, communicate with customers, collect reviews, process payments, host our website, or provide other services on our behalf.
These third-party service providers may include:
- Stripe, for payment processing
- Vercel, for website hosting and related infrastructure
- Resend, for processing and delivering email
- Shopper Approved, for collecting customer reviews and sending review requests
We may also disclose personal information when required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Novations, our customers, or others.
Third-party service providers may have their own privacy policies and practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services for additional information about how they handle personal information.
Communications
We may use your email address to communicate with you regarding your orders, questions, customer service requests, or other necessary business communications.
If you voluntarily subscribe to promotional emails from Novations, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those emails.
Please note that transactional or service-related communications, such as order confirmations or important information about an order, may still be sent when necessary.
Customer Photos, Reviews, and Testimonials
If you voluntarily provide photos, reviews, testimonials, or other content to Novations and give us permission to use that content, we may use that content for marketing and promotional purposes, including on our website and social media accounts.
We will not use customer-submitted photos or other content for promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
Reviews submitted through Shopper Approved may be displayed through Shopper Approved and its applicable review distribution or syndication services according to their policies and practices.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
However, no method of transmitting information over the internet or storing information electronically is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our products and services, maintain business and transaction records, communicate with customers, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and otherwise fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may securely delete or dispose of it.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can take appropriate steps to address the situation.
Third-Party Websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including social media platforms and other websites that we do not operate or control.
Once you leave the Novations website, your activity is subject to the privacy policy and terms of the third-party website you visit.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites or services you use.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.
You may also have the right to opt out of certain communications or data practices where applicable.
To make a privacy-related request, please contact us using the information provided below.
We will respond to privacy-related requests within 45 days. We may need to ask you for information sufficient to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Please note that we cannot delete information we are required to retain. Order and transaction records are kept as necessary for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, and our payment processor maintains its own records of transactions independently of Novations.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, services, or applicable laws.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we handle personal information.
