Welcome to Novations. We’re Brandon and Colton, a married couple from Utah and the proud pet parents of three amazing dogs: Nova, Bruno, and Ellie. Nova’s playful spirit and loyalty sparked the idea behind Novations, a blend of “creations” and her name, to reflect our passion for crafting personalized, quality pet products.
At Novations, we specialize in custom laser engraved pet products as a love letter to our four legged friends. Our goal is to offer pet owners a way to celebrate their pets through beautiful, lasting designs that are as meaningful as they are functional. From Nova’s playful spirit to our other pups’ quirky personalities, each of our designs are carefully curated and inspired by the love and joy that our pets bring into our lives. Every piece is made with love and precision, because we believe that every pet deserves the best.
Our custom engraving allows you to add a personal touch to each item, making it special and unique. We’re committed to providing high-quality, personalized products that will last for years to come. Thank you for supporting our journey and allowing us to create something beautiful for you.
Love, Brandon, Colton and Doggos.
It all started with a dog named Nova.
Nova is our first dog together, and she came into our lives in 2020, before we were even married. We brought her home to our second floor apartment in Layton, Utah, and it didn’t take long for her to become a huge part of our lives. She turns six in September 2026, and we’re currently waiting on a DNA test to find out if our best guess is right: Border Collie / Lab mix.
Nova is smart, incredibly fast, and very much convinced she’s in charge. She keeps the other two dogs in line, herds them around the house, and will even bring them over when we call. She’s also the best listener of the three and absolutely loves making her dads proud.
When she’s not running the household, Nova is usually playing fetch, watching out the window, or curled up between us in bed. She’ll chase a ball, frisbee, or stick until we’re tired of throwing it. She does bring it back, technically. Usually just close enough to make us reach for it ourselves.
She has a few other priorities in life, too. She loves her Snow Man toy, french fries, chicken nuggets, cows, and sleepovers at Grandma’s. Say “Moo-Cow” anywhere in the house and you’ll get a reaction. Every. Single. Time.
We wanted a pet tag that felt as special as she is, so we decided to try making one ourselves. That little project eventually grew into something much bigger. We combined Nova’s name with “Creations,” and Novations was born.
She may not know it, but our girl started the whole thing.
Bruno is our resident happy guy.
He’s a German Shorthaired Pointer who was born in June 2018 and turned eight in 2026. If you ask us what Bruno is like, the easiest answer is probably just… happy. He’s a go with the flow kind of guy who is perfectly content wandering around the house, watching the birds outside, or hanging out with his dads.
Bruno had a pretty rough start to life. At just 11 months old, he was diagnosed with Addison’s disease and almost didn’t make it. It took some time for the vets to figure out what was going on, especially since Addison’s is more commonly seen in older female dogs than in male puppies. Thankfully, they figured it out, and Bruno has been showing everyone what a happy guy he is ever since.
These days, Bruno’s priorities are pretty simple. Watch the birds. Hang out with his dads. Watch TV.
And he takes that last one very seriously.
Bruno loves watching TV with us, especially when there are animals on the screen. Honestly, he’s basically a toddler. The second we sit down on the couch, he’ll come over and sit right in front of the TV, looking back and forth between us and the screen like he’s waiting for someone to turn on his show.
As long as the TV is on and his dads are nearby, Bruno is pretty much living his best life.
Ellie is our baby, our couch hippo, and, depending on the day, the family menace.
She’s a Pit Bull / Lab mix, although we have a DNA test in the works to find out exactly what kind of doggo she is. Ellie turns five in November 2026 and was born in 2021. She came into our lives a little unexpectedly, but it didn’t take long to realize she was exactly where she was supposed to be.
We heard through a family member that someone had two puppies living in a bad home. We didn’t think twice. We went and rescued Ellie, and somehow our unexpected child became a permanent part of the family. The other puppy was a boy, and Colton’s mom ended up taking him in, so Ellie and her brother still get to see each other and play together. Pretty great ending for everyone.
Ellie is a little bit of a menace, but she is also nothing but love. She would happily spend the entire day cuddled up on the couch with us, and the second one of us gets up, she immediately steals our spot. Then comes the blanket and pillow fluffing, followed by some serious burrowing until she’s completely comfortable.
She’s also down for pretty much anything. A lazy day on the couch? Absolutely. A walk? Let’s go. Dog park? She’s already running in circles and letting out happy little whines before we’ve even made it through the gate.
Ellie loves everyone and genuinely seems to believe everyone she meets is just as excited to meet her. She’s the biggest cuddler of the group, although her affection can occasionally be a little dangerous. She’s strong, stubborn, and when she really gets going, good luck trying to push her off of you.
Listening has never exactly been her strong suit, but she makes up for it with an almost unlimited supply of love.
Ellie also firmly believes in working smarter, not harder. When all three dogs are playing fetch, she’ll chase the ball for a while, but eventually she figured out there’s a much easier way. She waits on the sidelines for one of the other dogs to bring it back, then jumps in and steals it from them.
Why do the work yourself when someone else will do it for you?
And then there’s the pool. Ellie absolutely loves the water and had herself a very good hot dog summer running around, splashing, and generally having the time of her life.
She may have been our unexpected child, but we can’t imagine our family without her.
